Which Layout? Static, Liquid, Adaptive, or Responsive

Post by Barry Goffett on

Just found a great blog written by Nick Pettit over at treehouse.

A great explanation of the commonly used layout styles in website development.

I personally favour the responsive page layout, as i feel it covers all sizes. It has breakpoints that change the layout of the site depending on the screen size, but then also uses relative units (ems, percentage) rather than fixed pixels (px) allowing a liquid nature to website elements, meaning they fit each screen size perfectly.

It’s a good method of future proofing websites, and catering for potential new devices with new screen sizes.

Anyway, take a look a blog and make your own mind up.
